The webforms plugin

The webforms plugin adds functionality for defining and using bot-proof webforms. This includes the Contact form and the Register form pages.

Register form

A form where anonymous visitors can apply for a user account on this site.

The form asks to fill the following fields:

  • First name and Last name

  • Email address

  • User name

  • Password

When using this form, we recommend to set lino.modlib.users.user_type_new to 'applicant' and to define a user type of that name. The users created via this form will then have the user type “Applicant”. Applicant users should have only limited permissions, usually they can just modify their user settings. Site admins will then have a table of “Applicants” that shows these new user requests and where they can assign them a proper user type.

Contact form

A form where anonymous visitors can ask to get contacted by a human.

Concepts

webform

An input form that is accessible to anonymous users and therefore needs additional tests to make it bot-proof.
